Panchagarh

Panchagarh is one of the most beautiful tourism places of Bangladesh. It is a rural site. This place is little different from other traveling or tourism places of Bangladesh. In Bandarban there are lots of hills, jhiris, falls, beautiful cannels, in Chittagong there are sea beach, hills, falls, some archeological places, in Sylhet there are also some hills, falls, rivers, main attraction of Sylhet is tea gardens and some shrines and mazars etc. But in Panchagarh there have beautiful rivers and also some archeological places. The Coordinates of Panchagarh is 26.25°N 88.50°E, it is situated in Bangladesh, the District of Panchaghar city is Panchagarh district, and the Division of Panchagarh is Rangpur District.
 
Panchagarh means five forts and they are Bhitar Garh, Hosain Garh, Mir Garh, Rajan Garh and Deven Garh. Panchagarh is situated in Rangpur division and it is about 400 Km from the capital Dhaka via Panchagarh-Banglabandha Highway. It is situated at the northern part of Bangladesh. The area of Panchagarh is near about 1404.62 Km². It is bounded by India from three sides. In north Darjeeling, in northeast side there is Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar and in west side there are west Dinajpur and Purnea and in the south side there is Dinajpur and Thakurgaon and on the east there is Nilphamari district. There are 16 rivers in Panchagarh, but the main rivers are Karatoya, Atrai, Tista, Mahananda, Tangon, Bhulli, Talma, Kurum, Versa, Tirnoi etc. and many people lives by depending on those rivers. There are lots of beautiful places in Panchagarh. Some of them are natural and some of them are archeological.

The main tourist spots and places of Pachagarh are:

Atwari: 

Atwari is an archeological tourism spot. Atwari is an Upazila of Panchagarh. There are three domed mosque which bears the relics of Mughal architecture. The mosques are at Mirzapur, Chhaprajhar (Paharbhanga) and Sardarpara. The mosques are known as Mirzapur Jamei Mosque, Chaprajhar Mosque, Solthori Mosque, Shordarpara Mosque. There is also a zamindarbari of Aloakhoa in Panchagarh and also majar which is known as Bara Awliyar Majar (shrine of 12 Awliya)

Tetulia: 

Tetulia is another traveling or tourism spot of Panchagarh and it is also an Upazila of Panchagarh. Tetulia is mainly famous for its natural beauty. About Tetulia the most important fact is it’s hospitality to the tourists. It is situated at the bank of the Mahananda River. There is a dakbunglow in bank of this river. It is a beautifulplace for traveling. Mahananda River has been facing form Darjeeling which is one of the most charming cities of India. If anyone travels to Tetulia at the time of July to August they can observe the beautiful scene of “Kanchenjunga” which is in Darjeeling. One can have clear view of Kanchenjunga at that time. Another important fact of Tetulia is the tea estates. Tea of Tetulia is similar to the tea of Darjeeling. There is a tea garden named “Kazi & Kazi” which is the first flat tea garden of Bangladesh. Banglabandha is situated at 57 km north of the Panchagarh town. Banglabandha is especially famous for port because Banglabandha has one of the largest land ports in Bangladesh. It is established to provide a trade link with India, Nepal and Bhutan. Tourists are interested to travel Darjeeling, one of the most attractive tourist places of India, Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal and Bhutan would prefer to travel through this route after establishing immigration facilities at this land port because Banglabandha is about only7 km from Siliguri and Jalpaiguri, in the Indian state of West Bengal and only 58 km away Darjeeling, about 68 Km from Bhutan and about61 Km from Nepal. Banglabandha Zero point is also a popular tourism spot.

Bhitorgarh Maharazas Pond in Bhitorgarh: 

Maharazas Pond is situated at about 10 miles away from Amarkhana Union. It is popularly known as MaharajarDighi. It is really beautiful during rain. Probably the Maharaja (king) of Bhitargarh dug the pond for supplying sweet water inside Bhitargarh. Local people said that, the surface of the pond is 800 yard and the depth is about 40 feet. It is said that the king attacked by a lower class and suicide with family and wealth by jumping in this lake. The environment of this pond is very beautiful and the area is surrounded by green trees which is very attractive to the tourists.

Panchagarh Rocks Museum: 

Panchagarh Rocks Museum is situated at Panchagarh Government Mohila College, which is establish in 1997 by the assists of principal of this college and it is recognized as the 1st rock museum in Bangladesh. The museum is divided into two parts and they are external and internal. The external part consists of a wide area and a vast number of rocks are exhibited here. In the internal gallery small stones of different ages are exhibited.The museum consists of various collections of rocks like Petrified Wood and Fossilized Rocks, Granite, Quartzite Shell, Lime Stone, Sist, Hard Rock, Basalt, Silica, Nice, Clay-Rock etc. and the size of the rocks are 3-4 inches to 10 feet. This museum is very attractive to the tourists.

Debiganj: 

Debiganj is one of third largest Upazila of Panchagarh district. It stands on the eastern bank of the Karatoya River. The tourism spots of Debiganj are the Revenue office building and old residential of the raja of Kuch-Bihar is famous and Jagabandhu Thakur-bariconsists of a Hindu Temple which is situated at Karatoya Setu Road, Debiganj is another place of interest for the tourists. The town also has one Dakbungalow (Rest house) too.

Govindaji Mandir (Temple) and Shibmandir in Baliadangi: 

Govindaji Mandir (Temple) is situated in the bay of the Tangon River; Raja Gobinda Narayan Thakur was built a temple in near 1707 which is known as Gobindojiu temple. This temple consists of the golden statue of Radha-krishno which is very attractive to the tourists. Though Baliadangi is a Upazila of Thakurgaon district it is very close to Panchagarh district. A 400 years old temple is situated at 8 Km north-south side of Baliadangi known as ShibMandir (Temple). The height of this temple was 30 feet but is has reduces its height due to subside. This place is another tourist spotespecially for the Hindus.

Debiganj Korthoa Bridge and Cheparajhara Paharabhanga mosque (400 years old):

Debiganj Korthoa Bridge is another beautiful traveling place of Panchagarh. The bridge is situated in debiganj. Every year lots of travelers travel this place. When you will travel this spot you will observe the beauty of nature of Pangahgarh. This is really a very beautiful and attractive spot to the tourist. Now the other beautiful traveling place named Cheparajhara Paharabhanga mosque. It is a historical traveling spot of Panchagarh. It was build before 400 years ago in Panchagarh. MirzapurShahi Mosque (400 Years old): 

Mirzapur Shahi Mosque is a 400 (Four hundred) years old mosque situated at Mirjapur which is about 6 Km away from Atwary via Panchagharh-Atwary road. The actual building date of this mosque do not known to anyone but in the eastern wall of the mosque records its repair and renovation by Shaikh Malikuddin in 1831. There have two old graves to the south of the mosque and to its northeastern corner stands an old well. The mosque has three domes and a courtyard. The court is surrounded by a boundary wall. There consists a beautiful Chau-chalaroofed gate-way room which is situated at the middle of the eastern side used to enter the courtyard. The mosque is rectangular and it has three arch ways in the east side and arched windows on the both south and north walls. This mosque is also an attractive tourists spot

Biggest Mango tree of Bangladesh in Thakurgaon and Golokdham Mandir (Temple): 

The largest Mango tree of Bangladesh is situated at Harinmari, Baliadangi, Thakurgaon, Bangladesh. It is locally known as “Shurjopuri Aam Gachh (Mango tree)”.It has huge number of branches and that’s why it looks like a mango garden. The large tree is covered about 2.5 Bighas of land. Many tourists gathered here to visit this largest mango tree. Golokdham Mandir is situated at Saldanga village of Debiganj Upazila in Panchagarh district which is about 12 km away from Debiganj. The temple was established in 1846.The excellent architectural view is an example of eighteen century. The area of this temple is very beautiful green and cool which attracts the tourists very much.

Transport and communication system & accommodation places:

By road is the only way to go Panchagarh from the capital Dhaka. One can go by bus or train. The buses are Hanif, Shyamoli, Dipjol, Bablu etc. rents may be 550 to 650 depending on bus and it is about 08 (Eight) hours journey from the capital Dhaka (Depending on the road condition and weather). By train will be a long process to go there Kamalapur Railway Station, Dhaka. If you have a private car it will be the perfect solution for your comfortable journey. After arriving in Panchagarh you can go other traveling place by local bus. There are lots of local buses here. By these local buses you can go Tetulia and Banglabandha. There are lots of auto rickshaws and rickshaws and CNG you will find in Tetulia and Banglabandha. There are lots of hotels in Panchagarh shadar. The hotels are Mouchak Residential Hotel (Address: Beside Panchagarh Land Office), Hilton Boarding (Address: Panchagarh Bazar), Central Guest House (Address: Chinema Road), Islam Residential Hotel (Address: Panchagarh Bazar), Alam Residential Boarding (Address: Fakirgonj Bazar, Atowari, Panchagarh) etc. These maximum are in the main city of Panchagarh.

Sundarbans is the most important traveling spot of Bangladesh. The name Sundarban can be literally translated as “beautiful forest”. It is the biggest halophytic mangrove forest of the world. Sundarban is about 10000 square km (3900 square mile). It is situated between India and Bangladesh but more than 60 percent is situated in Bangladesh. But the most important fact is- Sundarban is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. The west part of Sundarban is located in India and the South, East and West parts are protected in Bangladesh. The history of the Sundarban’s area can be traced back to 200-300 AD.

The Mughal Kings leased the forests of the Sundarbans to nearby residents during their period. The Surveyor General named Persian was the first person who was mapped the area in1764. British east India Company obtained proprietary rights from the Mughal Emperor Alamgir in 1957. In 1869 the first Forest Management Division to have jurisdiction over the Sundarbans was established. A large part of the Sundarbans Forests was declared as reserved forests under the Forest Act in 1865. In 1879, a headquarters built in the Khulna. First management plan for the Sundarbans Forest was written in the period 1893 to 1898. This part of Sundarban is densely covered by mangrove forest and is the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger.

The Coordinates of Sundarbans is 21°56′59″N89°10′59.988″E, Country Bangladesh, and the Division is Khulna Division, nearest city: Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat. The forest limited by North-Bagerhat, Satkhira and Khulna Districts, South Bay of Bengal, East Baleshwar river, Pirojpur, Barishal district and West Raimangal and Haribhanga rivers which is both in Bangladesh and West Bengal in India. Sundarbans covers about 10,000 square kilometers of which about 6,000 square kilometers are in Bangladesh. This forest is intersected by a complex network of tidal waterways, mudflats and Small Island of salt-tolerant mangrove forests which is very attractive place in Bangladesh. This forest is known for the eponymous Royal Bengal tiger.

It is the perfect place for photography actually for wildlife photography and also for the adventure. In this forest you can see the famous Royal Bengal Tiger, wildlife viewing, boating inside the forest will call recordings, nature study, meeting fishermen, wood-cutters and honey-collectors, peace and tranquility in the wilderness, seeing the world's biggest mangrove forest and the riverine beauty. Because of its geographical location, it is quite hard to reach the Sundarbans forest for the tourists and that’s why it will be a great adventure for you. One must travel to Sundarban by boat. For backpackers and the individual tourist it is so hard to organize or arrange a tour to Sundarban forest of their own.

Therefore, if you want to go to the Sundarban you must join a group of tourist of 10 or 12 members which may organized by tout organization or by a handful of operators or you can make a tour with your friends if anyone of you known very well about Sundarbans. If you are rich in population site it will also help to demise your expenses. Sundarbans features two Eco regions. One is “Sundarbans freshwater swamp forests” and another is “Sundarbans mangroves.

Sundarbans freshwater swamp forests:

It is a tropical moist broadleaf forest Eco region of Bangladesh which is represents the brackish swamp forests that lie behind the Sundarbans Mangroves. In this area the water is only slightly brackish and becomes quite fresh during the rainy season. This forest covers an area of 14600 square kilometers of the vast Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta, extending from the northern part of Khulna District and also at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal. There are two protected areas in this Eco region. One is Narendrapur which total area is 110 square kilometers and other is Ata Danga Boar which total area is 20 square kilometers that cover a mere 130 square kilometers of the Eco region. In this Eco region habitat loss is so extensive. The remaining habitat of this Eco region is so fragmented. It is so difficult to read the composition of the original vegetation of this Eco region.

Sundarbans Mangroves Eco region is the most beautiful part of the Sundarbans forest for the adventure. It is the largest mangrove Eco system in the world. The total area of this Eco region is about 20,400 square kilometers. Heritiera fomes is the primary mangrove species which is locally known as sundari or sundri. This forest which is mangrove forest is not home to a great variety of plants. The undergrowth in this forest is mostly seedlings of the mangrove trees. The other species of this mangrove forest are Avicennia spp., Nypa fruticans, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Xylocarpus mekongensis, Cereops decandra, Xylocarpus granatum, Rhizophora mucronata and Sonneratia apetala. There are 26 of the 50 broad mangrove types found in the world grow well in the Sundarbans forest. This forest will be a great place for adventure. Sundarbans mangrove forests of Bangladesh differ greatly from other non-deltaic coastal mangrove forests and upland forests associations. David Prain was recorded total 245 genera and 334 plant species in 1903. Sundarbans mangroves are dominated by the Malvaceae and Euphorbiaceae. The common trees are Sundari (Heritiera fomes), gewa (Excoecaria agallocha), keora (Sonneratia apetala) and goran (Ceriops decandra). Sundari (Heritiera littoralis) is the characteristic tree of this forest. Sundari is the beautiful tree and it yields a hard wood. This wood used for making house, furniture and boats. Another most attraction in this forest is spotted deer (Axis axis). Golpata (Nypa fruticans) and spear grass (Imperata cylindrica) are also well distributed in the Sundarbans forest. One can pass an interesting time and have adventure by traveling this beautiful forest which will be the memorable day or tour in your life.

A lot of wildlife is living in the Sundarbans forest. Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is the most dangerous and important animal in the Sundarban forest. The other animals are fishing cats, Macaques, wild boars, foxes, jungle cats, flying foxes etc. Sundarbans forest is also rich in bird life. There are 170 species of birds live in this forest. The common birds are swamp partridges, water hens, red jungle flows, coots, cotton teals, herring gulls, Caspian terns, gray herons, woodpeckers, pintails and so on. There are some fish like butterfish, electric ray, silver carp, barb and amphibians found this beautiful forest. You can see the tigers, deer, monkey, crocodiles, birds and also natural beauty in Hiron Point (Nilkamal).Katka to Kachikhali (Tiger Point) is the grassy way wild tracking where you can see tigers, birds, monkeys, deer etc. and Tin Kona Island is also for tigers and Deer. In Dublar Char the (Island) you can see the deer to graze.

Sundarbans plays a vital rule in the economy of Bangladesh. Every year lots of tourists come to visit Bangladesh to travel Sundarbans. It is the most important economic source. This forest provides a wonderful aesthetic attraction for local and foreign tourists and the best place for adventure. There are about 4 million people lives in the sundarbans forest. It also provides natural protection to the life. The protected area of sundarbans mangroves are Sundarbans National Park, Sajnakhali wildlife Sanctuary, Sundarbans East wildlife Sanctuary, Sundarbans West wildlife Sanctuary and Sundarbans South wildlife Sanctuary.

Sajnakhali Wildlife Sanctuary: 

It is situated in the northern part of the sundarbans in South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, India. The total area of this forest is about 362 square kilometers. This beautiful Wildlife was set up as a sanctuary in 1996. There are many wildlife animals and beautiful birds in this Sanctuary like as water fowl, heron, spotted deer, wild boar, tigers, Water monitors Lizards, otters, crocodiles etc.

Sundarban National Park: 

Sundarbans national park is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger. One part of this park is in Bangladesh and other part of this park is in West Bengal, India. Sundarban National park was set up as a sanctuary in 1977 and it was declared as a national park in 1984. There are many beautiful birds and wildlife animals in this national park. Salt water crocodiles are also found in this park. It is the perfect place to travel for extra experience in our boring life.

Sundarbans East & West Wildlife Sanctuary: 

This Wildlife Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are several mangroves, with deer ground, river bank and so on. The total remaining tiger is about 350 in the Bangladesh. The common animals are Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Royal Bengal Tiger, Macaque Monkey etc. It is in the eastern part of Sundarbans. Total area is about 31,227 hectares. Sundari trees are available here. You can also see many types of birds in this Sanctuary. It is the most beautiful place in Sundarbans. Every year lots of tourists come to visit this forest or wildlife Sanctuary. Really it’s an amazing place for traveling. You cannot forget sundarbans travel in your life because of its natural beauty.

Sundarbans South Wildlife Sanctuary:

The total area is about 36,970 hectors. The common trees are Gewa, Goarn, Passur etc. of this Sanctuary. It is the southern part of Sundarbans main forest. In this south wildlife sanctuary you can also see different type’s birds, trees and wildlife’s. In this portion you can capture different types of sight-seeing and natural picture. For the photography Sundarbans South Wildlife Sanctuary is an ideal place. Everyday lots of local and foreign tourists come to visit and photo-shoots in this beautiful place. 

How to go there:

To travel to Sundardans forest from Dhaka, you have to go first Khulna or Mangla to board the boat. There are many different ways to have this journey. You can go by bus, train or airplane. However, once you get into the forest, you must have a boat to roaming around. Because there are lots of lacking’s of infrastructural facilities, so that tourists have to accommodate on board the vessel during their traveling time inside the forest. Boats used for this purpose are normally equipped with rooms and meals facilities on board.By Bus: The bus services from Dhaka to Khulna are Hanif, Shyamoli, Green line, BRTC, Shyamoli etc. By Train: The train services are Kapotakkha express, Sundarban express, Rupsha express, Simanta enxpress, Chitra express etc. Then you can hire a launch or stemmer or privet boat to go Sundarbans.

Sreemangal

Sreemangal is one of the most important traveling places of Bangladesh. It is in Moulvibazar district of Sylhet. The area of Sreemangal is 450.74 km². Around Sreemangal there is Moulvibazar in north; Tripura of India is on south, on the east Kamalganjupazila and on west Chunarughat and Bahubalupazila. The Coordinates of the beautifull Sreemangal is 24.3083°N 91.7333°E. Once Sreemangal was a part of the Tripura state of India. In 1897 one of the biggest earthquakes occurs. After that a massive change caused in physiographic of Sreemangal and after the liberation war of 1971 of Bangladesh it was separated from India. Now it is the part of Bangladesh.

Sreemangal is full of natural beauty and history and archaeology. There are lots of beautiful tea stats, falls and an important and obviously one of the biggest resorts. This is the natural part of Sreemangal. In archaeological heritage there are Nirmmai Shib Bari, Tamrashasan of Raja Marundanath, and statue of Ananta Narayan. Lawachara is the most beautiful traveling spots in Sreemangal. Lawachara Rain Forest is one of the most beautiful forests in Bangladesh where wild life can breathe easy. This forest is built by the British, the time of their rule in Indian Subcontinent. The government of Bangladesh declared it as a National Park in 1997. Lawachara National Park is a major national park and nature reserve in Bangladesh. It is about 250 hectares national parkis the most beautiful tropical forest. The park is a home of large diversity of about 460 species among which 167 are plants, 4 amphibian species, 6 reptile species, 246 bird species and 20 mammal species. Leopards, deer, wild chicken, wild bores, squirrel, python, even king cobra are among the other inhabitants of this forest. Besides these animals one rare type of Chloroform tree of Asia is found here. There also have lots of birds. So for bird lovers must visit this place. This park is very attractive to the all types of tourists. If you travel this place you can see the beauty of nature and can get knowledge about the life style of this place. Madhabkunda waterfall is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Sylhet and it is one of the largest waterfalls in Bangladesh. The height of the Madhabkunda waterfall is 61m or 200 feet. The rhythmic sound of waterfall from 200 feet height you must enjoy. Big bolder of stones and the black stones with green leafy trees are making this waterfall so charming and eye catching and that’s why the travelers coming from different parts of the world prefer traveling Madhabkunda waterfall. Hakaluki Haor is one of the biggest haors in Bangladesh and one of Asia’s larger Haor. The haor is consists with Sreemangal upazilla under Moulovibazar district. It is a marsh wet land ecological system of North-Eastern Bangladesh. The surface area of Hakaluki Haor is 181.15 km2 but during rainy season its total area turns into 7000 hectors. Hakaluki Haor was an ecologically critical area designated by Department of Environment. A total of 558 species of animal and birds have been identified here. Rema Kalenga Forest or Rema Kalenga Wild life Sanctuary: 

Rema Kalenga Forest or Rema Kalenga Wild life Sanctuary covers an area of 1795 hectares. It is very nearer to Sreemangal and also closer to the Tripura border of India. It is a dry and ever green forest and also the second largest natural forest in Bangladesh after the Sundarbans. The Rema Kelenga wild life Sanctuary is known as a protected forest and wildlife sanctuary in our country. There has many wild creatures, currently it has about 37 species of mammals, 167 species of birds, seven species of amphibian, 18 species of reptiles and 638 species of plants. Here a variety of rare bird species, like - Racket tailed dragons, Parrots, Hill mortem, Red head kucakuci, Sepia Bulbul, Basanta Bauri, Voulchars, Mathura, Banamoraga, owl, King fisher, Eagle etc. are also available here Which attracts the tourists very much. Tour or Travel at Satchari Forest: 

Satchari Forest is situated in south-west direction of Sreemangal. It is about 60 km from the main town of Sreemangal. The area of the Satchari Forest is near about 243 hectares. Satchari National Park is also known as the Telepara Forest Reserve. It is the part of a larger protected region. Most of the people of our country have no idea about this place. May be it is less popular than Lawachara Forest but Satchari Forest is obviously a beautiful and most attractive and obviously the peaceful and quite area. There is also higher diversity of plants and animals then Lawachara and the population or the human disturbance is also less than Lawchara Forest. In there you will find a number of marked walking trails, several streams, a less number of population crowed, fishing cats, Payer’s languor, jungle fowl, pygmy woodpeckers and oriental pied horn-bills can be seen here. If you travel Sreemangal you can visit Tribal villages because there has more than 11 Khashia villages and some Monipuri villages. The Khashia villages are generally situated at top of the hills and these villages are surrounded by betel and nut trees. If you want to visit these villages, it will be better that if you take the permission from the local chief because the local peoples are not enough hospitable without his permission. Tour or Travel at Madhabpur Lake: 

Madhabpur Lake is another beautiful traveling place of Sreemangal and also of Bangladesh. Lawachara and Madhabput Lake is in the same way. In this spot you can see a very beautiful lake and some small hills with beautiful tea garden. You can go bout of these two spot by CNG. It will take whole day to see both of these two spots.

There is an ancient iron bridge on bank of Surma River when you put first step in the city. One can spend some pleasant time on the bank. It’s too much exciting to roam on boot. Near the bridge you can see the Ali Amzad’s 140 year’s old watch. That place would be a beautiful tourism spot to the travelers who like adventure. Michel kin was the governor of Asam state in previous century. He came to visit the Sylhet. To remind his charming memory this bridge has been constructed. According to the history, then train was the only medium to contact with Asam. For reasonable reason this historical iron bridge was made. In 1933 the railway department started to construct the bridge. And in 1936 the construction of the bridge was completed and opened for all. In 1971 during the liberation war the regiment of East Pakistan blown away some part of it by dynamite. After the liberation war it was repaired by woods and some other elements and opened for small vehicles. 

Surma River:

Surma River is one of the most beautiful and one of biggest river of Bangladesh. Surma River is a part of Surma-Meghna River system. This river starts from the Barak River of India. Surma River is divided into two parts one is Surma River and another is Kushiyara River. The average depth of Surma River is near about 280 feet or 86 m and maximum depth is about 550 or 170 m. Surma River is a perfect watery place to have a beautiful boat journey and this is also a great opportunity to have a family and friends time. Every year the program of “Boat rowing” is held on this famous Surma River.

The full name of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) is Shah Jalal ad-Din al-Mujarrad al-Turk al Naqshbandi (1271 CE to 15 March 1364 CE). Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was one of the most important Sufi Muslim at that time of Bengal. Hazrat Shah Jalal’s name is associated with the Muslim movement into the north eastern Bengal. He was the spread of Islam in Bangladesh through Sufism. There is a long history of his of travel between the Middle East, Persia, Central Asia and South Asia. According to the history, Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) arrived at Sylhet in 1303. The Mazar of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) is situated at Sylhet. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was the teacher of Sunnah of Muslim religion. He was performing prayers in solitary atmosphere. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) always lead a solitary, retire and lonely life as an ascetic. For this Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was called by the name of Al Mujarrad. He was given the name by Shaykh-ul-Mashaykh. Hazrat Shah Jalal’s (R) birthday and birth place was not confirmed by the history. But a number of scholars have claimed that Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was born in 1271 CE in Turkey. And he travel to Yemen for further learning. Again, some believe Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was born in Yemen. 

The name of his mother was Syeda Hasina Fatima and the name of his father was Mohammad bin Ibrahim. Hazrat Shah Jalal’s (R) father was a Muslim cleric. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was raised by his uncle named Syed Ahmed Kabir who lived in Mecca. He was learned from him also. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was Hafiz of islam and became an Islamic Theology. It took 30 years to achieve the spiritual education. He did lot’s of practice and meditation to achieve the spiritual education of his entire life. According to the legend it was known that, once one of his uncles Sheikh Kabir gave Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) a handful of soil. Then he asked Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) to travel to India. He asked Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) to propagate Islam in any place of India where the soil was exactly matches that which Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was given by his uncle in both smell and color. As a result Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) started his travel to India to settle Islam and he found the match of the soil in Sylhet of Bangladesh.

Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) devoted himself to Islam for his entire life. He was a very simple person. His life was very simple. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) travels a lot of countries. He was a great guide line to the people of Sylhet about Islam. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) always tried to help people and tried to give them good solution of their problems. After traveling in Sylhet Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) spend his rest of life in here. Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) was died in 15 March 1346 CE. His dargah is situated in Sylhet which is known as Dargah Mahalla. It is one of the most important shrine of Bangladesh. It is very well known traveling place to the traveler for travel. There is a mosque in here which is the largest mosque in Sylhet and one of the largest in Bangladsh.

Chittagong tourism guide

In our previous posts we already discussed about Bandarban, Khagrachari, Rangamati the most beautiful places of Bangladesh. In Sylhet there are lots of beautiful place and Bandarban and Khagrachari are two hill cities. Today we will talk about Chittagong. This is another hill tracking zone of Bangladesh.

Chittagong is one of the most beautiful cities of Bangladesh. It is another hill tracking travel zone. It is also known as Porto Grand de Bengala and in the age of Mughal the name of the city was Islamabad. After Dhaka city the Chittagong is the 2nd most populous city in Bangladesh. Chittagong port is the main sea port of Bangladesh. This city located on the bank of the River named Karnaphuli. The population of Chittagong metropolitan city is near about 6,500,000. The total area of the city is 168.07 km2 (64.89 sq. mi). The Coordinates of the Chittagong is 22°22′0″N 91°48′0″E, and the Country is Bangladesh, and the District is Chittagong district, and the Division Chittagong is also Chittagong division. Now a day Chittagong has become very attractive traveling zone to the tourist. Lots of people come to visit this city every day. Some of them come from abroad. So the city plays a vital role in commercial, financial and industrial hub. There are many beautiful places in Chittagong to travel. Here we will give a short list of the traveling zone of Chittagong. 

Banskhali Echo Park: 

This echo park situated in Banskhali at Chittagong. Firstly you have to reach Chittagong from Dhaka. Then go to Banskhali from Chittagong. There are many bus services to go Chittagong and rent is 480 to 1200 taka. You can also travel Chittagong by train and rent is 320 taka to 610 taka only. It takes 7 hours to reach Chittagong. You can go the Eco Park by CNG or Auto Rickshaw. The entry fee of this park is 10 taka only. There are two long bridge in this park by which you can see around of this park. There are two towers in this park which is best for sight-seeing and also a mini zoo for the tourists or visitors. You have to leave his park before evening because there is no guest house or motel in this park for the tourist or visitors. In this park you will find light food like as biscuits, chanacur, cheeps etc. but you cannot complete your lunch because there is no hotel in this park. You can also travel there with your family because it is a safe place for the tourists. You have to neat and clean this park which is ordered by the Park organization. There is a beach near to the park. You can also travel this beach. It is a very beautiful sea beach and important tourism spot in Chittagong.

Mirsharai range:

Chittagong is a hill city. It is the perfect place for hill tracking or outdoor spots and also travel. Mirsharai is a well-known upazila in Bangladesh under the Chittagong district.It is a beautiful tourism spot. Its total area is 482.88 square km. this upazila is surrounded by Tripura State of India. The hills range on the northern and eastern side of this sub district which is the perfect place for hill tracking and traveling. Total populations are about 325712. Sitakunda Eco Park Bangladesh:

Sitakunda Candranath hill is the perfect place for hill tracking in Chittagong. It is about 35 km away from the main town. It is very near to the Sitakunda main Bazar. This hill is our favorite small tracking destination. It takes about 2 hours to climb this hill. At the time of climbing you can see many temples, waterfall, hills trail and so onat this tourism spot. This hill is situated beside on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. To travel this tourism spot firstly you have to reach Sitakunda and then you can go there by walking. You can also travel a beautiful Eco park which is very close to Chandranath hill. Local name of this Eco Park is Shitakunda Eco Park. It is about 33 km from Chittagong main town. This park is full of natural beauty and endless repository. There are lots of trees and wild life in this park. You can also visit 4 waterfall in this park.

Shupto dhara waterfall: 

You can find this fall in the Sitakunda Eco Park. You will sea the signboard of Shupto dhara waterfall in the way of Eco park road. If you walk through the upstream of water you will find the beautiful Shuptp dhara waterfall. You can get help from the local people to reach this waterfall. Khoiyachora waterfall: 

It is the biggest waterfall in the Sitakunda-Mirsharai range. This waterfall is one of the most beautiful tourism places of Chittagong. It is so much difficult to travel there. There are so many waterfall in the same trail. To travel there you have to start walking in the Boro Takiya Bazar. Boro Takiya is a small Bazar beside the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. The rent is about 50 taka only Chittagong to Boro Takiya Bazar. It takes 1.5 hours to reach Khoiya Chora waterfall from Boro Takiya Bazar. Another most beautiful waterfall is Boro Darugha Hat waterfall. It is the most attractive tourist spot in Chittagong District.

Foy’s Lake: 

Foy's Lake is the most important tourism place of Chittagong. Foy’s Lake is in the khulshi at Chittagong town. It is about 8 km away from the main town. Foy’s lake is the most beautiful and attractive lake in Bangladesh. It is an artificial lake. In 1924 it was dug under the Assam Bengal Railway Authority and it was known as Pahartali Lake. It is renamed by the British railway engineerFoy. Now the present ownership of this lake is Bangladesh Railway. The biggest hill in the Chittagong is Batali hill which is situated beside the Foy’s Lake. This artificial lake is one of the attractive and most beautiful tourist spot in Bangladesh. Country’s largest construction company Concord has set up an entertainment park in this lake, where visitors can tour the lake, boats, restaurants, tracking and concerts are also held.A beautiful small zoo is in here for the tourist. This beautiful and attractive zoo was built in 1989 beside the Foy’s Lake. Total area of this park is 6 acres. In 2000 the total animal of this park is 280. This zoo is an artificial zoo which provides you mind refreshment and remove boringness in your life. Now we will talk about Court Building of Chittagong. This court building situated in the traditional hill Porir Pahar. By climbing this hill you will find this old building. Now this building is used for DC office. War Cemetery Chittagong Bangladesh: 

There is a war cemetery in the Chittagong which is known as Chittagong war cemetery. It is about 22 km north form the Shah Amanat International Airport and 8 km from Chittagong Port. After the 2nd world war British Army built this war cemetery. There are 400 graves in this cemetery. You can go there by bus or Auto Rickshaw from the Chittagong main town. Lal Dighi


Lal Dighi is one of the most attractive and beautiful traveling places in Bangladesh. It is situated end of the jail road in the Chittagong main town. There are two red building besides the pond and that’s why it is known Lal Dighi. There is also a temple in the northern side of the pond. Raja Ray Bahadur was a king of Chittagong. He was the owner of this Lal Dighi. Chittagong City Corporation is the new owner of this Dighi. You can travel there by bus or Auto Rickshaw. It is really a beautiful place to travel. 

Ethnological Museum of Chittagong: 

It is situated at the Agrabad in the Chittagong main city. This beautiful museum was built in 1965. There is no entry charge to enter the museum. It is always opened for the visitors or tourist. This museum is also used as a laboratory. You can travel this place to collect an extra experience in your life.

Halda River & Patenga Sea beach:

This River is in south-eastern part of Chittagong. The total length of this river is 81 km. This river mixed with Karnaphuli River in the kalurgath. Halda River is named by the saldha hilly village. This River is started from the Batnatoli hill. It is a very beautiful river in the Bangladesh. You can enjoy the natural beauty to travel this river. Patenga Sea beach is one of the most attractive and beautiful picnic spots in Bangladesh. Patenga beach is the closest see beach in the Chittagong town.
